Irish Blackberry

Irish Blackberry is my favorite shade of purple (plum) and has strong stems and a great honeycomb. It throws occasional white wolf petals that I love. I do wish it were more productive and held its centers better.

This is likely not a great business choice, but I am compelled to plead. If someone has clean stock of Clearview Jennae, could clean Clearview Jennae, or could breed something similar, that would make my dreams come true. Jennae’s full blooms, pointy petals, rich color, long stems and shocking productivity are unparalleled in plum dahlias in my opinion. I like Irish Blackberry, but I dream of growing clean Jennae.

All Irish Blackberry tubers offered for sale in 2024 were grown from my stock that tested negative for INSV, TSW and TSWV in fall 2022 and negative for DMV/DCMV, INSV, TSW and TSWV in spring 2023. In October 2023, 2 of the 41 Irish Blackberry plants I grew were tested as part of a random 10% sample. Those plants were negative for DMV/DCMV, INSV, TSW and TSWV.
